Spirit Dancer 3D-2D
A dream that defined the artwork that started all my designs.
It was all pitch black all around. I heard a soft deep drumbeat increasing in rhythm to my heartbeat as light flickering towards me from a distance. The light became bigger, louder, and faster. Behind this light was a man wearing a facemask coming looking at me. He was furiously flailing his arms in rhythm and his mask would change at every beat. I remembered by late elders dancing in a real qasgiq – or ceremonial sod house.
As I lay, he suddenly stopped with outstretched arms above me and said “Waniwatang – Here it is!”
