Salmon Festival I

  • This artwork is in honor of the trouble the fish population is experiencing. Ancestral Yup'ik believed that each animal species had a spirit guide that helped in the renewal of migration or availability. Here the spirit helper in fish form, calling all fish to do their part and offer themselves to the people.
