Navigating Rising Costs: How We Adjust Without Compromising Quality

Atsaq Art team is fully aware of the cost of living in Alaska, but we are committed to serving rural Alaska, our primary customer. Rising costs and supply challenges are affecting many industries today. We face these pressures too, and we want to be transparent about how we are adjusting our prices while maintaining the quality you expect.

🧊 Pricing Transparency & Commitment

Since 2000, we've worked hard to keep our 3D Art prices steady—even as costs rise. We're committed to keeping them as affordable as possible, honoring both our rural customers and the creative labor behind each piece.

👕🧵 Upcoming Apparel Price Update

In the next couple of months, a few of our apparel designs will see modest price increases of $2 to $8. These changes reflect real shifts in supply availability, rising material costs, and production expenses—but our commitment to quality and sustainability remains unchanged.

🎁 If you're part of the Atsaq Art Loyalty Program, now’s a great time to use your subscriber discounts before the adjustments take effect.

🌱 Our production partner, Printful, Inc. (North Carolina), helps us keep prices low while maintaining climate-conscious practices in making our products. We also regularly compare our pricing with similar items offered by local retailers to ensure fairness and accessibility. Larger retailers have a higher overhead cost than Atsaq Art.

Understanding the Factors Behind Price Changes

The global supply chain has experienced disruptions that impact raw materials, shipping, and labor costs. These changes affect the entire production process, from sourcing fabrics to manufacturing and delivery. For example, the cost of cotton and synthetic fibers has risen due to shortages and increased demand worldwide. Shipping delays and higher fuel prices add to the expenses, making it more expensive to get products from factories to customers.

In addition, labor costs have increased in many regions as workers seek fair wages and better conditions. These factors combine to create a situation where maintaining previous price levels is no longer feasible without sacrificing quality or service.

How We Keep 3D Art Prices Stable

Did you know our 3D art products have been priced consistently for 25-years since 2000? We have worked hard to absorb cost increases through efficiency improvements, and the use of natural materials. By streamlining our workflow methods, we reduce waste and speed up production without lowering quality.

We use natural materials such as driftwood from the Bethel harbor, sand from Mekoryuk, legal walrus ivory, seashells and sand from Mekoryuk, migratory bird feathers, grouse and ptarmigan feathers, seal intestine, porcupine quills, reindeer hair, reindeer skin, and whale baleen. A fine tuned carving method of production allows us to create quality 3D Art consistently. This approach helps us keep prices stable even when material or labor costs rise.

We always seek cost effective frames, such as the Simple Masks shown on our site. These art frames were instantly loved by everyone during the Alaska Federation of Natives convention last October in Anchorage, Ak.

Apparel Price Adjustments Explained

While we strive to keep prices low, some apparel designs and accessories have seen increases between $2 and $8. These changes reflect higher costs for fabrics, printing, and manufacturing. For instance, specialty inks and sustainable materials often cost more but provide better durability and environmental benefits.

We will carefully review each product line to minimize price hikes. Popular designs with steady demand may see smaller increases, while new or limited-edition items might have slightly higher adjustments due to production scale and sourcing challenges.

Balancing Quality and Affordability

Our priority is to deliver products that meet your expectations for quality and value. We do not compromise on materials, craftsmanship, or design. Instead, we focus on smart sourcing and efficient production to keep prices as low as possible.

Here are some ways we maintain this balance:

  • Partnering with trusted suppliers who offer fair prices and reliable quality

  • Using sustainable materials that last longer and reduce waste

  • Investing in technology that improves production speed and accuracy

  • Offering a range of products at different price points to suit various budgets

What This Means for You

You can expect continued transparency from us about pricing and product changes. We want you to feel confident that every purchase reflects fair value and quality. If you have questions about specific products or pricing, just let us know.

We also encourage feedback on how we can improve your experience. Your input helps us make better decisions about product offerings and pricing strategies.
