Palrayuk Framed Print
"Qaluyarmiut- People of the Dipnet" on the Bering Sea coast painted their kayaks with this animal which had six legs and a long tail. As it looks like a sea otter maybe we had own very own Bering Sea Dragon. A large six-legged beast about three qayaqs long or more that looked to have an otter’s body with scales as skin, or was it like an otter’s fur, that swam around Qaluyaarmiut (Nelson Island). He had a long tail, legs of an otter, maybe walrus flippers for his feet, 3 fish fins on his back above each set of flipper legs. A Bering Sea Dragon that swam fast…(more stories of our Sea Dragon to come soon.)
