Waiting Limited Edition - This was one of my spondaneous works.  When salmon are waiting at the Kuskokwim Bay before breakup.  The salmon gather at the mouth of the Kuskokwim, drawn by memory to the waters of their birth. In the hush before the great migration, the Yup’ik people wait—not for riches, but for the return of sustenance, the ancestral gifts that will fill their caches and carry them through winter’s long breath. These fish do more than feed the body. They nourish the headwaters, as they have for millennia, each generation passing life upstream, a sacred cycle etched into the river’s soul.The Yup’ik hold that Ellam Yua Yeshua—Spirit of the Universe—provides for those yet to come. But it is man who must uphold the covenant: to protect the future of all life, not just his own.
