This rare collector’s piece completes a trilogy honoring ancestral fishing traditions and spiritual reciprocity. At its heart is a mask with smiling eyes—an emblem of joy and reverence—surrounded by halibut dancing in rhythmic motion. Sand and beads flow across the composition, echoing the currents of the sea and the continuity of tradition. Reindeer hair and feathers lend movement and texture, animating the scene with lifelike grace.
 
The central oar searches the depths for halibut, while the fish pursue feathered bait—a symbolic exchange rooted in the belief that animals offered themselves willingly, watching how humans honored their bodies in the preservation process. This sacred relationship is echoed in ceremonial masks, where animal parts were used during festivals to bridge the physical and spiritual realms.
