The Alaska Natives have stories to explain these northern lights. The northern lights dance in the night sky that mystify everyone’s imagination. Children would play out with great awe mesmerized with the colorful display of light. As the means to have them return home, parents would tell their children that the lights will grab them from the sky, and never return. When the color turned red, that meant there would be war or a great negative event, playing kick-the-ball with a skull.
