Brothers 2000 Limited Edition - This artwork used to be in two pieces of art as one, and has been restored, see the story. Made in December 2000.  One of a few poster sized one's I made.  You can see their happy dance.  My earlier productions were made with ivory eyes on soapstone before going into carved masks.  This artwork was once designed for the corner of the house, not flat on the wall. There was another set of dancers on its side facing at a 45 degree angle to eachother. I sold that separately from this one too, after restoring it. They have eyes made of ivory and seashells.  Seeashells were naturally drilled for consumption by a starfish in Mekoryuk.

  • It has an intersting story as it went through much in its lifetime of 22 years.  It was designed for a corner wall in a 45-degree angle.  The frame and glass were specially made. See the last image of what used to be the other side "Spirit Dancer."

In 2000,  I gave it to a middleman (unnamed) who was supposed to sell it for $1,000, but never heard from him again for many years until I ran into him in public.  He said it was stolen. So later I posted the theft online.  Many years later a couple had found my old website and were frantic.  It was sold to them in a bar for $500. It happens they were going through divorce and were fighting over it.  Neither of them wanted the other one to have it. It came back damaged in 2006.  This work has been reframed and restored - One-Of-A-Kind.
